In accordance with the requirements of Article 19 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Access to Public Information’, requests for information may be submitted at the request of the applicant in oral, written or other form (in particular by mail, fax, telephone, e-mail).

The request may be individual or collective. A written request shall be submitted in any form.

The procedure for publishing public information and considering requests for information, reimbursement of applicants’ expenses for copying or printing copies of documents in accordance with the Law of Ukraine ‘On Access to Public Information’ is regulated at the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office by:

INSTRUCTION on the procedure for ensuring access to public information at the prosecution authorities of Ukraine, approved by Order of the Prosecutor General No. 363 of 06.08.2020;

ORDER of the Head of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office of 29 June 2023 No. 113 (as amended by the order of the Head of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office dated 5 September 2024 No. 104)

Requests are accepted and access to public information is provided at a specially designated place – the ‘Citizens’ Reception Room’ of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office at the following address: 27/2 Lesi Ukrainky Boulevard, Kyiv, 01601.

Work with information requesters is carried out on working days and hours: Monday to Thursday – from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 1:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.;

Friday – from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., from 1:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requests for information to the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office should be submitted to:

- by filling out an electronic request form

A request for information must contain:

(Article 19 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Access to Public Information’):

1) the name (title) of the requester, postal address or e-mail address, as well as the contact number, if any;

2) a general description of the information or the type, name, details or content of the document to which the request relates, if known to the requester;

3) signature and date, provided that the request is submitted in writing.

In order to simplify the procedure for submitting written requests for information, a form for requesting public information has been developed, which can be obtained at the reception office of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office (address: 27/2 Lesi Ukrainky Boulevard, Kyiv, 01601) or downloaded from this website.

If, for valid reasons, a person is unable to submit a written request, they will be assisted in completing the request by the responsible employee of the public reception department, reviewing appeals and requests of the regional prosecutor's office, who must indicate their name and contact telephone number in the request and provide a copy of the request to the person who submitted it.

Information is provided free of charge upon request.

If the request for information requires the production of copies of documents exceeding 10 pages, the requester is obliged to reimburse the actual costs of copying and printing.

When providing a person with information about themselves and information that is in the public interest, no fee shall be charged for copying and printing.

In accordance with Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Access to Public Information,’ decisions, actions, or inaction of information managers may be appealed to the head of the manager, a higher authority, or a court.

Appeals against decisions, actions or inaction of information managers shall be brought before the court in accordance with the Code of Administrative Procedure of Ukraine.

In accordance with Article 17 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Access to Public Information,’ parliamentary control over the observance of the human right to access information is exercised by the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, temporary investigative commissions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and People’s Deputies of Ukraine.
